The Documents & Contracts trigger allows business users to trigger workflows based on the state of a document
Businesses will be able to update opportunity tags, send invoices, attach tags to contacts, and maintain any record through actions like Google Sheets/Slack. All participants have to sign or send the document after it has been sent/signed by a recipient.
The trigger can be filtered based on conditions such as document status, value, template name, or recipient type.
In most cases, document status triggers a workflow.
Sent - When a business mark the document as sent, the workflow is triggered.
Viewed - When a document is viewed by anyone other than the business user who sent it, the workflow is triggered.
Signed/Accepted - It is based on the condition that it has been signed by one of the recipients of the document (Useful if multiple recipients receive the document and the business needs to keep a record of whenever a recipient signs/accepts it).
Completed - When all recipients have signed the document, the workflow is triggered.
You can also trigger a different workflow based on the Template Name, e.g., if a different sequence of actions is required for different types of templates, such as Sales Proposals, NDAs, or Deal Closure Agreements.
In addition, documents can be routed differently depending on whether they are sent to Recipient Contacts or Business Users.
Furthermore, business users will be able to branch workflows based on value or document type criteria based on the above conditions.
A custom value will be used for a specific contact to fulfill any use case or send out custom notifications.
If the document has not been signed by the contact and the business wants to remind them, this will also help with reminder sequences.
