Starting July 15, 2024, your contacts weren't able to start new chat conversations with your business from Google. Contacts in existing chat conversations could see a notification from Google about the feature phaseout.
On July 31, 2024, the chat feature was removed from Google Business Profile. You can no longer receive new chat messages.
Starting July 15, 2024, those contacts who are participating in existing chat conversations have been notified about the phaseout of this feature. Until July 31, 2024, these notifications will appear in existing chat conversations, and at that time the GBP chat service will cease to be available.
If you are having ongoing conversations with your customers on GBP Chat, we recommend seeking their contact information. In this manner, you will be able to continue to speak with them on the phone or through any other alternate channel after July 31.
If you currently use "GMB Messaging" action in your workflows, please note the action would have start ed getting skipped starting from Aug 1. Please edit your workflows to take appropriate alternate actions.
If your profile currently does not have a phone number or if the number is hidden, we recommend adding one to your Business Profile so customers can continue to contact you directly.
