Steps To Set Up Google Analytics 4 in Workflows

Within the CRM, there is an existing workflow action for both Google Analytics 4 and Universal Analytics. To track marketing campaigns and website traffic, users can choose either platform or both. Tracking and analyzing user behavior becomes more flexible and integrated. Businesses can use this data to improve marketing strategies and user experiences.

Create or Use an Existing Google Analytics Workflow

Select "Add to Google Analytics" in your Google Analytics Workflow.

In the "Action Type" dropdown, select "Google Analytics 4"; this is a new value.

Get a Measurement ID from your Google Analytics Data Stream

Get the measurement id from your Google Analytics account by going to "Admin" > "Account Settings" > "Data Stream" > "Select the Data Stream".

Copy the Measurement ID for your desired Data Stream.

Paste the Measurement ID in the Measurement ID field of your Google Analytics Action in your workflow.

Create a Google Analytics Event that you Want to Track

You can Add the event name that you wish to track. This event name will show up under the Google Analytics dashboard along with other standard events that are set up. 

Get an API Secret Value from your Data Stream

Add the API secret by navigating to your Google Analytics account "Admin" > "Account Settings" > "Data Stream" > "Select the Data Stream" > "Measurement Protocol API secrets".

Please Note:

API Secrets can only be created after you acknowledge that you have read and understood Google's privacy disclosures.

Click Create if no API Secret has already been created.

Name your API secret and hit Create, and a Secret Value will be generated automatically.

Copy the Secret Value from here and paste it into the API Secret field in your Workflow for Google Analytics.

Please Note:

If you paste your API Secret value into the workflow's field, there must be no space before or after it.

Click "Save Action" and then "Save Workflow". When you are ready to use it, click "Publish".
